Elderly man hit by car in Friant

FRESNO, California (KFSN) -- The CHP is investigating a crash that injured an elderly man in Fresno County.

It happened around 11 p.m. Wednesday on Friant Road and Millerton Road. The CHP says a male driver struck an 86-year-old man who was walking in the road. The driver made a u-turn, pulled over, and flagged down other cars to call 9-1-1.

The victim was airlifted to the hospital, where he's being treated for major injuries.

At this time investigators do not know if the man was using the crosswalk.
