Meet a Buchanan brother-sister combo who will play at Wake Forest University

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- You've heard of the Mannings (Peyton and Eli), the Millers (Reggie and Cheryl) and now meet the Mitchell's (Donovan and Myca).

"I think we will be one of those household names," Buchanan High School athlete Donovan Mitchell said. "I'm looking forward to our future there and see it where it goes."

That "there" would be Wake Forest University where 6-foot-9 Buchanan high basketball commit Donovan Mitchell will play college hoops, the same college where his 6-foot-1 sister and volleyball player Myca Mitchell has given her verbal commitment.

"My brother kind of had a feeling he was going to go to Wake and my mom was like you should come with us, we should go together," Myca said. "When we went I fell in love with the campus."

"I got offered first for basketball. obviously," Donovan said. "I committed right away, the volleyball team offered her and she committed also, she wanted to stay close to me."

The close bond will continue into college beginning in the fall of 2017 when Myca arrives as freshman and Donovan will be a sophomore

"We've been close, we are only a year apart," Myca said. "He's always there for me, he's that older bigger brother that's very protective at some points, we fight here and there but it's usually related to sports."

What can't be argued is that both Donovan and Myca have the physical tools and talent to make it big at the next level.

"Wake Forest seemed like more of a home than a school," Donovan said. "I really like the team there and I really fit in well when I went on my visit."

"Donovan his dream is to make it to the NBA, make it to the league and Myca if you talk to her she wants to play significantly at the next level and see what happens from there," John Jay with the Buchanan volleyball team.

"I just love the competitiveness of volleyball," Myca said. "The sport you are always on your toes, running around, doing something, you always play a role, it's not like you aren't doing something because you can always do something when you are on the court."

And when it involves the Mitchell's that something on the court, is usually spectacular.
