Kayaker found dead near Hume Lake, authorities say

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Rescue crews are working to recover a body that was spotted in the Kings River, northeast of Hume Lake, Thursday.

The Fresno County Sheriff's Office said the body was reported around 9 a.m. Investigators say early reports indicate the victim was possibly swimming or kayaking with a group of people when they were washed downstream toward Yucca Point.

The identity of the victim has not been released.
