Alfonso Hernandez, Fresno community leader, dies at 64
A local community leader who impacted thousands of young lives in Fresno has died.

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A local community leader who impacted thousands of young lives in Fresno has died.

Fresno native Alfonso Hernandez died of a heart attack on Tuesday. Over the past few decades he worked with youth who were labeled at-risk. The Fresno State graduate helped launch the Chicano Youth Center on Divisadero in 1975. The center provides services, including: mentoring and counseling, leadership development, youth advocacy, and charter school services.

Funeral services will be held January 15th in Fresno. Alfonso Hernandez was 64 years old.
