FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Investigators are looking into how a driver ended up crashing her car into an East Central Fresno convenience store.

The incident happened last night at the "Extra Mile" on Shields and Armstrong. Workers there say the impact of the crash shattered merchandise and sent items flying across the store.

A clerk who was inside the store at the time of the incident says at first he thought it was something other than a crash. " I thought like bomb scare. I think bomb blast. I heard the big boom," said Laly Dhaliwal, Extra Mile.

Employees estimate the damage at $40,000. This is the same store where the first ever California Powerball jackpot ticket was sold in October of last year.
