CHP: Man struck, killed after jumping from car on Hwy 41 in Fresno
The California Highway Patrol says a man was struck and killed by a vehicle on southbound Highway 41 in Northeast Fresno after jumping from the car he was riding in.

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A man is dead after being struck by a car on Highway 41 in Northeast Fresno on Monday night.

The California Highway Patrol says the unidentified man jumped from the passenger seat of a moving car and was struck once, maybe twice, on the southbound side of the highway near Gettysburg Avenue. Officers are not saying much about why the man jumped or who he is, but they say the man driving the car this person jumped from did stop and talked with investigators.

Once emergency crews arrived, traffic on the freeway was closed to just one lane, which backed up traffic significantly. The on-ramps for both directions of Shaw Avenue were closed down as investigators pieced together what happened. All lanes of the freeway were reopened about an hour and a half later.
