Easton armed robbery caught on camera
Detectives are on the hunt for two gunmen who threatened a store clerk during a robbery in Easton.

EASTON, Calif. (KFSN) -- Detectives are on the hunt for two gunmen who threatened a store clerk during a robbery in Easton.

The robbery was caught on camera. Investigators at the Fresno County Sheriff's Department are working with Fresno police to see if the gunmen are tied to a case in the city that happened less than an hour apart.

The armed men wasted no time, running into the Stop N Quick, heading first for the register then chasing down the store clerk. In the video they appear to be unfazed by threatening him. At one point in the video they both point their guns at his head at the same time.

"They shoved him out of the way, got into the cash register, quickly took an unknown amount of cash and then fled out of the store," said Tony Botti, a spokesman for the Fresno County Sheriff's Department.

The crime lasted less than a minute. But that's plenty of time for something to go terribly wrong. "They just have no regard for anybody's safety," Botti said. "They wanted to come in, rip this place off and get out."

Fortunately, the customers that continued to walk in during the hold up and the clerk were not injured.

The men masked their faces, but at least one item stands out. "One of them is wearing a red glove on his left hand," Botti said. "It's pretty distinct, as he's reaching into the till. It's just something to be aware of; it might be part of an MO we see in other robberies."

The robbery happened two weeks ago around 10:15 p.m. Detectives so far have not identified the men in the video. The clerk declined to speak with us about the robbery.

"They're going to become a little more bold," said Botti. "They're going to want to take the next dare. That's when the potential for somebody to get hurt goes up. That's what we want to put a stop to."

Investigators also think they may be tied to another robbery six miles away in Southwest Fresno.

Investigators also believe there may have been a getaway car waiting for them, but they don't have a description of it since it wasn't captured by the outside cameras.
