Fire destroys Central Fresno home

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Investigators are trying to determine the cause of a fire that destroyed a Central Fresno home Tuesday afternoon. Firefighters say when they first arrived the home near Abby Street and Olive Avenue the home was completely engulfed.

In addition to a hot summer day -- crews were also dealing with downed power lines and very close neighboring buildings. A lot of their attention was directed to protecting those other buildings.

There are conflicting reports from neighbors about whether someone was inside when the home caught fire. So investigators are trying to reach the property owner to figure out who was living here and whether anyone knows what happened.
