FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Authorities say one drunk driver is to blame for smashing into several cars in Southeast Fresno on Saturday night. The chaos finally ended near Thomas Avenue and Third Street at about 8:30 p.m.
Fresno police say it all started a few blocks away when the suspect left a barbecue. He crashed his SUV into a neighbor's car and stopped briefly to exchange information with the owner. But then he sped away, hitting at least four parked cars.
The first victim followed him and finally parked her vehicle in front of his. But it didn't end there. "For an unknown reason, he guns the engine and rams into her car, pushing her car into another parked car. And after that, we arrived, and he was taken into custody," said Sgt. Eddie Barrios of the Fresno Police Department.
Police say it's fortunate no one was injured during this incident since several children and adults were out in the neighborhood at the time. They expect the suspect to face several charges, including DUI and possibly assault with a deadly weapon.
