FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Two suspects are under arrest, accused of stealing from people they met on Craigslist. Fresno police received a call about an armed robbery in the area of Clinton and Maroa avenues around 8:30 p.m. Tuesday. Investigators say the men were selling an item online, and when the buyers showed up, the men stole $700 in cash, their wallets, phone and their car.

Police on patrol noticed a car matching the description, sitting in front of a liquor store at Shields and Fruit avenues. As police officers arrived, one of the suspects tried to run. Both men were taken into custody, along with another person who was in the wrong place at the wrong time.

"Also what was kind of funny that a third subject, who happened to be a wanted parolee with a warrant for his arrest, saw officers arrive in the area, took off running as well, and was taken into custody. So we actually wound up with three in custody right now," said Sgt. Michael Manfredi of the Fresno Police Department.

Officers say they found a 9mm handgun on one of the suspects. Police are going to test it to see if it's been used in any recent armed robberies or shootings.
