FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- The California Highway Patrol is investigating after a pedestrian was hit and killed on a busy Fresno freeway during the morning rush hour. The crash happened before 6:30 a.m. Monday on northbound Highway 99 near the 41 connector in Southwest Fresno.
Witnesses reported a person lying in the roadway. Investigators believe the man was trying to cross Highway 99, and made it across five of the six lanes before being struck by four cars. The CHP says all of the drivers stopped and are cooperating with officers.
The victim's name has not been released.
