Back-to-school shoppers hit Valley stores

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Kids across the Valley will return to school in just a matter of days now, leaving stores busy with back-to-school shoppers. The aisles at the Target in Central Fresno are full of all the school essentials.

The National Retail Federation says families with children in grades K-12 plan to spend about $630, down from almost $670 last year. The total projected spending for the back-to-school season is expected to total $68 billion.

This week, students from 11 Valley school districts will return to the classroom, including Central and Visalia Unified School Districts.
