Man beats up woman, shoots at bystanders, authorities say

FRESNO, Calif. -- The Fresno County Sheriff's Department is investigating a violent fight that escalated into a shooting, and the gunman is still on the loose.

The incident happened Wednesday night around 11:30 at a tattoo parlor on Clovis Avenue and Ashlan Avenue. Deputies say a man got into a fight with a woman. She was severely injured and rushed to the hospital.

Deputies say the suspect shot at several bystanders, one of which was shot in the arm. Investigators say more than one person may have fired a gun before the suspect took off. His car was later discovered at Divisadero Street and Diamond Street in Downtown Fresno.
