In the morning or afternoon, La Boulangerie Bakery is bustling with customers and filled with the scent of fresh baked pastries.

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- In the morning or afternoon, La Boulangerie Bakery is bustling with customers and filled with the scent of freshly baked pastries.

Katrina McGraw, of Fresno, said, "It's a really nice atmosphere. I really love the food, the coffee's good. It's a good ambiance."

Its popularity has landed it as a favorite on Nextdoor in the Fig Garden area. People can like their favorite restaurant or services with the Nextdoor Neighborhood Favorites List.

VP of Communications and Policy Steve Wymer with Nextdoor said the online website and app is helping bring together millions of people nationwide. In Fresno, they have 427 unique neighborhoods where people can share concerns, crime and their recommendations.

They hope this connectivity can help fuel businesses.

Wymer said, "We're talking millions of recommendations and small businesses are the backbone of our economy in America, and we want to do our best to help the best small businesses connect with those closest to them."

Kuppa Joy Coffee in Clovis and Fresno landed on the recommended list.

Kuppa Joy Owner Zachary Follett said, "I love it. They kind of made it easy for us because we came to the Valley and opened our doors to connect to the community to connect to our community and their platform is making it easy for us to fulfill our platform as a business."

Follett is the owner and said he loves the idea of connecting with the community. Now, he's been inspired to do neighborhood events and free giveaways.

"Love thy neighbor is something we want to do and that platform is the perfect way to hit that neighborhood."

Bringing the community together in ways big and small.
