Madera Clerk Shot in Hold up is Recovering

A Madera store clerk is recovering after being shot in a hold up.It happened at "Harry's Liquor and Gas" on gateway drive on Monday. A surveillance camera photo shows a masked gunman entering the store. He shot the clerk and escaped with cash. The clerk was hospitalized but is now recovering at home.

That holdup came less than a week after the robbery of the Circle K store just north of the city. Surveillance video shows two suspects robbing the store. One had a gun.

Erica Stewart from the Madera Co. Sheriff's Dept. said, "They took off with four hundred dollars in cash, a box filled with personal checks as well as an untold number of lottery tickets."

The Sheriff's Department is investigating the Circle K holdup. Madera Police are handling the other robbery case.
