Deputy Honored with Highway Dedication

Fresno, CA Deputy Joshua Lancaster was killed in 2003, when a car being pursued by the Sanger Police Department hit his patrol vehicle.

The Fresno County Supervisors today approved a resolution to dedicate a stretch of Friant Road, between Willow Avenue and Lost Lake County Park, to Deputy Sheriff Joshua Lancaster Road.

That portion was selected because every year since his death, a memorial run has been held in his honor.

Motorcyclists from "C.O.P.S.", Concerns For Police Survivors, ride from Visalia to Millerton Lake each year in his honor and all other local officers killed in the line of duty.

Jason Lancaster brother said, "This run does not memorialize just my brother but all fallen officers. It takes care of all the Central California families who lose an officer."
