High speed and patchy fog blamed in Fresno Co crash

FRESNO, Calif.

The Highway Patrol says several drivers were going too fast on Highway 180 near Dickenson just after 5:30 a.m. Thursday morning. One of the drivers slowed down suddenly when running into a patch of dense fog. That driver was rear ended by another car followed by a big rig and another car.

"The big thing is in these county areas -- you are going to have dense fog, so you have to slow down," said Sean Wills with the California Highway Patrol.

No one was injured in the accident and the accident scene was cleared up within an hour.
