The company has decided to stop continuously brewing decaf after noon as part of an effort to curb waste.
A spokeswoman for Starbucks says there is less demand for decaf coffee in the afternoon, but if someone orders a cup, baristas will brew a fresh pot.
It is the latest move in an overall labor and cost-cutting plan that will save Starbucks $400 million by September.
