According to the Farmersville Police Chief, the newborn baby girl was delivered at the home where she was found.

Farmersville Police were called out to the home, just before 7 p.m. Monday night, by a resident who lives in the home. They told officers the full-term infant was in the garbage can outside the home.

Investigators questioned the baby's mother -- 23-year-old Danielle Downing -- who was detained, interviewed, and released.

"We did a neighborhood canvas. Everyone at the residents was interviewed as well. We've talked to a number of people," said Police Chief Mario Krstic.

Investigators have not said if they believe the baby was born alive or if there are any signs of trauma. Police are waiting for results of an autopsy to give them more clues. The autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday.

Investigators say the baby's mother is being cooperative. The other children who live in the home have not been removed.
