The dry conditions in states like Wisconsin and Michigan are devastating locally-grown Christmas trees. Ag officials say the standard-size trees you buy in December are typically 7 years old, so those mature trees are expected to survive when they're chopped down this year. But the younger trees have almost been wiped out.
Ag officials say growers are losing about 4,000 trees, which is about half of their new crop.
