More than 100 people attended a special luncheon today in remembrance of the time spent in internment camps during World War II.

The Central California District Council hosted the event in Northwest Fresno.

Local artist Nikijo Masumoto performed her one-woman show, "What we could carry" during the luncheon.

It asked people to consider how the internment during world war two changed the Japanese-American experience.

Local judge Dale Ikeda also received an award from the consulate general of Japan during the event for his contributions to the tsunami relief efforts in Japan.
