Avenal Elementary School teacher arrested for child molestation

AVENAL, Calif. (KFSN) -- An Avenal Elementary School teacher is in jail on 3 counts of child molestation.

Christopher Nugent is accused of inappropriately touching students. Police said an investigation started Wednesday after reports were made to the police department.

Nugent was arrested the next day.

The Avenal Police Department and the school district will hold a press conference Friday.
