HANFORD, Calif. (KFSN) -- The fencing is down and businesses are back open near the Fox Theater in Hanford. This after a shifting rafter forced adjoining stores to evacuate Friday, and close up shop for the entire weekend.
The theater has been under construction since mid-March, after a portion of the ceiling collapsed in the auditorium.
Business owner Linda Silveira says she was preparing to take over a salon during the weekend. But was forced to put her plans on hold, over fears the roof could cave in.
Silveira says she's glad workers were able to stabilize the structure in time for her grand opening Tuesday morning.
