Coalinga police arrest arson suspect again

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Police arrested Michael Stewart, 27, after he admitted to setting a fire near a Coalinga business on Friday. They also say he purposely started about 20 other fires in the city over the last year.

Earlier this month, police say a surveillance camera caught Stewart lighting a dumpster on fire then running away. He was later arrested. Investigators believe Stewart has damaged thousands of dollars in private property.

Stewart was booked into the Coalinga City Jail on suspicion of arson. He was later transported to the Fresno County Jail.
