Fresno State hosts second annual Frescon Comic Convention
Guests are encouraged to show up in their cosplay outfits and compete in the contests.

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- The second annual Frescon Comic Convention is underway this weekend.

The event started Saturday at Fresno State's North Gym and will last through Sunday evening.

Guests are encouraged to show up in their cosplay outfits and compete in the contests. There's also an artist alley and a vendor hall featuring local businesses.

"We have expanded the vendors greatly," cosplay coordinator Taylor Kruger said. "Our contests are bigger. Our tournaments are completely filled. It's gotten bigger and better and we have special guests this year and we hope for it to continue to grow."

Visitors can also take part in panels and workshops inspired by the comic book culture.
