DUI suspect arrested in double fatal crash near Millerton Lake identified

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Action News is learning more about the driver accused of killing two motorcyclists near Millerton Lake on Friday. Authorities have now identified her as Denise Lago, 38, of Auberry.

The California Highway Patrol says Lago was under the influence of prescription medication when she crossed into oncoming traffic on Auberry Road near Millerton Road. Her Chevrolet pickup truck collided with a Toyota Highlander, before hitting the motorcycle and one more car.

The 49-year-old man driving the motorcycle and a 50-year-old female passenger -- both from Fresno -- died at the scene. The other people involved suffered minor to moderate injuries.

Lago was arrested on suspicion of DUI.
