Students at Our Lady of Victory School give back to the community

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Students at Our Lady Victory School spent their Monday morning preparing lunches for those in need.

This is part of Catholic Schools Week.

"It's a great experience," said Zachary Dawson who is in eighth grade. "I think everyone should have the opportunity to help someone else."

The students made over 150 lunches to donate to Catholic Charities. Each of the lunches included a pb&j sandwich, water bottle, as well as fruit, chips and another snack.

"It brings a bit of joy into the daily routine of school," said Jacob Ruizwall who is in sixth grade. "It makes me happy".

All the students K-8th grade got to participate in this community event. Dawson explained that each of the students brought in items to make the lunches. The younger students were able to color pictures to put in the bags.

Students say it's important to give back and this event is something they look forward to each year.
