REEDLEY, Calif. (KFSN) -- Fire destroyed a home in Reedley and fire investigators are working to determine a cause. The fire also damaged three other properties in the area.
The fire started around 4:00 Sunday afternoon near the intersection of Evening Glow and Hemlock avenues.
There's practically nothing left of the house and we're told all that remains standing and likely salvageable are a few things inside the garage.
No one was home at the time, but neighbors who witnessed the fire say they heard fireworks going off in the neighborhood around that time. That is unconfirmed by firefighters who say the cause is still unknown.
"I came out and the flames were shooting up already the popping sound made me alert you know," said Felicita Almanzar. "And my nephew was out here and quickly we got the water hoses out."
Two people are displaced by the fire.
Firefighters say there was a delay getting water to come out of the fire hydrants. But Reedley firefighters say the fire was far too involved for the delay to have made a big difference in saving the house.
