FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A white Fresno parole officer, who says he lost out on a promotion because of discrimination, lost his case against the California Department of Corrections.
The jury voted 9-3 that the fact Andrew Mounts is white was not a significant reason for the decision to promote an African-American ahead of him.
The two candidates had nearly identical qualifications, but Mounts has a business degree and his competitor has a criminology degree.
Mounts' attorney says she'll appeal the verdict.
