FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Former Clovis High School assistant football coach Dwayne Andrews and former assistant baseball coach and teacher Matt Pena were sentenced on Wednesday after they both had sex with the same underage student.

Prior to sentencing, Andrews apologized for what he did and said he let his emotions get the better of him.

Andrews was sentenced to 94 days in custody and three years probation. The custody time can be done in a work program, so he will not be sent to prison. The judge said Andrews will not have to register as a sex offender, but any new offenses will lead to jail time.

Pena also apologized to the victim's family, and his own family, prior to his sentencing. He said he failed as an educator and takes full responsibility for his actions.

The judge sentenced Pena to a 120 day jail sentence, but it will be served under house arrest and three years probation. Pena will also not have to register as a sex offender.
