Heroes Golf Tournament benefits the Wounded Warrior Project

MADERA COUNTY, Calif. (KFSN) -- People across the valley are coming together to help honor military service members.

The Wounded Warrior Project helps those who were injured while serving our country and has helped thousands of veterans and their families, including people in the Valley.

According to the Wounded Warrior Project:

• Less than 1percent of the public serves the country.


• 2.5 Million troops have been deployed to conflicts.


• 51,000 Troops have received physical injuries.


• 320,000 Service members report experiencing a traumatic brain injury.


• 400,000 Live with the invisible wounds of war.

The Wounded Warrior Project serves veterans and their families who received an injury during military service on or after September 11th. They help 55,000 people across the world.
