School Nurses Battle Fresno Unified Over Seizure Medications

Fresno, CA The district is asking them to train principals, teachers, and office personnel on how to administer seizure medications to students with epilepsy. The nurses claim this training violates state and medical regulations. Some have refused to provide the training.

Fresno Unified issued a response, "Training of medical and non-medical staff is a key job responsibility that has been part of our nurses' job duties for years. It is unacceptable to refuse to perform job duties, to refuse to provide necessary training to co-workers ..."
