Child Dies From H1N1 Virus In Kings County

Fresno, CA A Kings County boy is the latest victim of the H1N1 virus. The County Health Department said the first-grader was weakened by other health problems, but his death is considered "flu related."

"I think this is something we all need to be concerned about with this virus. Yes it can lead to death in some people. I think we need to...the most effective thing we can do about an influenza virus is to have a vaccine," said Michael Maclean with the Kings County Health Department.

Kings County is expected to get its first batch of H1N1 Flu vaccine next month. But because the supply will be limited, the County Health Department plans to administer the doses to children aged two and under because they are the most vulnerable.

20 children have died from the H1N1 Flu Virus in California during the past year.
