Bears and Minivans in Yosemite

October 26, 2009 12:00:00 AM PDT
Scientists at Yosemite National Park have discovered something curious about the habits of black bears, it seems that they love to target minivans more than any other type of vehicle.More bears are searching for food in the park's developed areas. Park scientists say that's led to more than 900 attacks against vehicles in a seven-year period.

29 percent of those attacks come against minivans, even though they make up only seven percent of the cars that visited Yosemite.

Researchers are trying to figure out what's behind the attraction to minivans.
