LA Nurses Head to Haiti

Los Angeles Nine doctors and about a dozen registered nurses said their goodbye's Saturday morning in LA.

They packed their bags full of food, water, sleeping bags and medical supplies -- preparing themselves for a daunting task.

"From here we've got a pretty good experience to what the trauma management is. So from that standpoint, I think we're all set. But from a mental standpoint I'm not sure we can get ready for this until we get there.

More than 7,000 American nurses have volunteered to go to Haiti and hundreds of doctors are there to help out.

But most of the country's medical facilities are rubble and the medical workers who are there now are struggling to find places to work.
