Police plucked the boy out of the pool on Farris Street near Palm and Olive.
Family members say all of the relatives had gone inside the home to prepare to go swimming just after six o'clock Monday evening. They came back outside to find the toddler unconscious in the pool. Emergency crews performed "CPR" on the boy for more than an hour, but he was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
Police interviewed relatives at the scene, but say this appears to be nothing more than a tragic accident.
