At about 7 a.m., Paris tweeted, "So Scary, just got woken up to a guy trying to break into my house holding 2 big knifes. Cops are here arresting him."
Police said a man was arrested for allegedly trying to break in to the home at about 6:45 a.m. Hilton was at home asleep at the time and apparently woke up to the sound of the man banging on the windows. She saw him through security cameras and called police.
Hilton posted a photo of the arrest on her Twitter page.
The /*LAPD*/ confirmed that the man was carrying two knives. He was booked at Van Nuys Jail. His name has not been released.
Actor Charlie Sheen also lives in the Mulholland Estates. Two of his cars were stolen on two separate occasions from in front of his home. They were found at the bottom of a canyon about a half-mile away.
Police are investigating how the intruder was able to get past security.
