Citizenship Faire

The Citizenship Faire will be free of charge. Trained volunteers will assist applicants to fill out the forms and check the required documentation to be sent to U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services. Attorney's will be on site only to determine applicant eligibility.

Applicants will have register for an appointment by calling (877) 839-9900. Only those who register may participate in the Citizenship Faire. Applicants must provide all the required documentation on the check list provided to them after they have registered.

Approximately 50,000 Legal Permanent Residents (LPRs) in Fresno County may qualify to become citizens of the United States of America. There are two programs of significance: one allows persons who are 50 years or older and LPRs for over 20 years to take the oral examination in their own language, and they do not need to know how to read or write in any language; the other one allows persons who are 55 years or older and LPRs for over 15 years to take the oral examination in their own language, and they do not need to know how to read r write in any language.
