Grape harvester crash lands two in hospital

FRESNO, Calif.

The California Highway Patrol says 57-year-old Albert Rivera of Fresno was driving south on Bethel Avenue near Adams when his Toyota drifted into the northbound lanes Saturday.

Rivera hit one of the grape harvesters, then the second, ejecting one of the drivers.

That driver sustained major injuries and was taken by helicopter to Community Regional Medical Center.

The driver of the second harvester, as well as a passenger in the Toyota, received minor injuries.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation but officers say they do not believe drugs or alcohol were a factor.
