It started out around 10:30 a.m. Monday morning at the Cameron Park Apartments near Dakota and First. Firefighters say the fire started in the laundry room and quickly spread. There is no word yet on whether any tenants were displaced by this fire.

The intense heat created a dangerous situation for firefighters attacking the flames. "Approximately 8 minutes into this incident, we had to sound an emergency alert tone because we had a roof collapse. We had to pull our crews back, do an accountability check, make sure no one was hurt so that hindered our operation," said Sean Johnson with the Fresno Fire Department.

34 firefighters responded to the fire. No one was injured. The cause is under investigation.
