There's been a steady flow of people coming to the job fair throughout the day to work at the /*Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks*/.
Organizers say around 200 people have already turned in applications and have been interviewed.
Nature lovers have filled the Convention Center in Downtown Visalia for a chance to work in the great outdoors.
About 300 jobs are available, including positions from tour guides to hotel and restaurant staff.
Mark Tilchen, Sequoia Natural History Association said, "A lot of people in Visalia don't realize there are a lot of summer opportunities up at Sequoia National Park, actually several hundred jobs and so what we do is bring down the various agencies that are involved in hiring."
Unemployment in Tulare County is at 16.2 percent, which is why organizers are hoping to hire local applicants.
Tilchen said, "We hire from all over the country, but if possible, especially knowing how bad the unemployment as it is, we've love to hire local people as well."
For some, working and playing in the parks represents a lifelong dream. Others are just looking for a good job.
Dbi Miller from Three Rivers has been unemployed for almost a year and hasn't found much luck landing a job in a more traditional setting, so she figured she'd give nature a call.
