Investigators say a man and woman approached several people in Fresno to car jack them and eventually the suspects stole a car and then sped away.

They were spotted in Southeast Fresno a short time later.

Officers chased them and ultimately arrested them in an industrial park near Dakota and Maple Avenues.

The pursuit went through surface streets, but reached freeway speeds. Police say the driver was forced to stop after blowing a tire. Officers say they recovered the weapon used to steal the car.

Fresno Police Department Lt. Phil Cooley said, "Ultimately we want everyone to go home safe, citizens, suspects and officers. We brought a dangerous incident to a successful conclusion."

Police say no one was injured. Police are interviewing the victims and the suspects.
