Bullard Talent earns top honors in Philadelphia music festival

PHILADELPHIA

The Bullard Talent Middle School Concert Choir and Showcase Choir performed in the Philadelphia Heritage Music Festival. The 60 students, led by Randy Burger and Jane Wagner, competed against high schools across the country -- and were the only middle school even at the event. But that didn't stop them from sweeping the festival.

The showcase choir took home numerous trophies, including the highest award of the event.

Onyx Beytia won best female soloist, and trio Hannah Lambert, Sydney Swearengin, and Taya Warren took the Judge's Maestro Award.

Festival organizers were so impressed by the group, they invited the students to perform in New York City's Carnegie Hall next year.
