The incident happened near Seneca and College in Merced. Police said the victim was carrying her laundry to her apartment when the suspect approached her, naked from the waist down. Authorities said the man grabbed the woman around the waist and attempted to sexually assaulted her, but she was able to fight him off and get away.
Police said the suspect ran off and was described as a Hispanic male in his early to mid-thirties wearing a long sleeved black shirt.
The victim was not injured in the assault. So far, no arrests have been made.
