OROSI, Calif. (KFSN) -- A teenage boy is still in critical condition Tuesday, after being shot multiple times Monday night.

It happened a little after seven on Avenue 414 and Road 130 in Orosi.

Action News spoke with an Orosi woman who lives in the area. She heard the gunshots shortly after 7 p.m. She was scared but wanted to see what was going on, so she went to her garage and peered out a window.

"I heard a lot of commotion and a lot of talking and arguing and all that," she said. "So then I came in and I called the police right away and I told them what had happened, and they came so fast."

When deputies arrived, they found a 15-year-old boy who had been shot multiple times in the upper and lower body, leaving a trail of blood on the sidewalk.

"He was saying like, 'Help me, help me,'" said the woman. "'I don't want to die, help me.'"

"He was alert, talking to us," said Tulare County Sheriff's Office Lt. Duane Cornett. "He was taken away rather quickly once the ambulance got on scene."

Cornett says the teen had been walking home when he was shot.He had surgery at the hospital Monday night.

As of Tuesday afternoon, he's not able to talk, but if and when he can, Cornett says they will ask him more questions, including whether or not he knew the suspects, who fired from a car.

Cornett says a neighbor's surveillance video helped them identify the suspect vehicle, believed to be a gray or silver sedan.

The sheriff's office is asking anyone with information about the shooting to call them.

"This is one of those cases where we're going to need the public's help because there's not a lot of witnesses to it and there's not a lot of information out there at this time," Cornett said.
