After an intense search Fresno Police determined the babysitter had taken the girl on a bus ride to Los Angeles. Los Angeles Police discovered Tiffany in LA, in the care of her grandmother.

Fresno Police Sgt. Nina Jacobs said the babysitter, identified as 14-year-old Jazmin Urena was a friend of the girl's mother. But Urena may have brought the child to Los Angeles at the urging of the girls grandmother, identified as Margarita Matias. Jacobs said the grandmother had been concerned about the care the child was receiving in Fresno.

Fresno Police and social workers from CPS investigated the girls living situation and decided she was not in danger living with her mother in Fresno.

Police say they are not sure if a crime has been committed. Jacobs said that while it was "technically a violation of the law" to remove the child from the mother's custody, police would have to determine the intent behind the incident.

Police initially identified Jazmin Urena as a runaway. They also said the grandmother had previously attempted to take the girl away from her mother.
