Suspect arrested in Fresno video game store robbery

FRESNO, Calif.

Officers have arrested a suspect in connection to a video game store robbery in west central Fresno. They also believe Oshae Boyd is a suspect in four other robberies.

In the video game store robbery -- police say two suspects barged into the store and ordered workers to the ground. An owner of the store, who was armed with a handgun ran into the bathroom, and shot one of the suspects.

He was found dead about a mile away. Police say the owner of the store will not face charges for shooting Wesley Sarden, but the suspects in the case could be charged with murder under the felony murder rule.

Chief Dyer said, "Every citizen has the right to defend themselves and in this case it was apparent the female store owner felt her life was in jeopardy because she'd been confronted by a suspect and when she fired that weapon, she says she fired that weapon because she was in fear for her life."

Investigators say they've identified a third suspect and are waiting to process evidence before arresting him. A fourth suspect remains at large.

Police also revealed that Wesley Sarden had been on probation and had a no-bail warrant out for his arrest. The 18-year-old had a prior arrest for a burglary in Clovis earlier this year, served some time in Juvenile Hall, but failed to report back after being released when given weekend furlough privileges.
