Officers were called to the area of East 5th St. and High St.in Madera at around 1:30 a.m. Sunday.
Investigators say the victims were outside waiting for a taxi when a black car started driving towards them. At that point officers say the driver got out and fired six shots towards the two people.
The victims injuries are not life threatening. Anyone with information about the suspect is asked to call the Madera Police Department.
