A ribbon-cutting ceremony took place in Central Fresno on Friday for the long-awaited completion of the braided ramps project along Highway 180.

The $53 million project connects highways 41, 180 and 168, and greatly reduces traffic crashes in the once congested area.

Cars have been moving along the new on- and off-ramps for the last couple of weeks, but Friday marked the official opening.
