Fire that damaged Central Fresno home deemed suspicious

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Firefighters are investigating an overnight fire in Central Fresno.

Crews were called to the duplex near College and Belmont avenues before 3 a.m. Tuesday. The home and a building in the backyard were severely damaged by the fire.

At one point, the fire started to spread to a house next door, but firefighters were able to knock down the flames before the home was damaged.

Fire investigators say the cause of the fire is suspicious.
